It's been about 2 months...

I really need to make it a habit to journal a bit more frequently.

My new project finally going full steam and finally separated from the old one.  I've chosen to go whole hog on  the Agile approach this time around, using Scrum as my basis.  One of the main things I'm focusing on is "information radiators."  We've got flip-chart sheets stuck all over the walls and are really working to see how we can maximize visual information and kill every written report that we can.

I have become a Certified Scrum Master as well as sat for the PMI Agile Certified Practitioner exam.  The CSM training was frankly disappointing. The entire 2 days could have been handily stuck into 2 hours or, even better, done in an emailed powerpoint.  This was very clearly a "you have to sit through this to take the test" training.  The ACP exam was different from what I expected.  Much less situational and a lot more concrete.  A lot more emphasis on extreme programming than I had expected.

My boss finally posted the PMO position on Thursday afternoon and I applied the same day.  I should be interviewing on the week of the 14th.  Would make a most excellent Thanksgiving!

The die, it is cast

I am currently being considered by the LTC Command board as I type.  I will be considered by the LTC promotion board beginning of September.  The board file closes on Friday and I have submitted everything I can and the packet actually looks pretty darn good. So I am in a "tactical pause" until I hear something.

My fantasy position would be command of a ROTC BN 10 miles from my house while on active duty as a LTC. I doult either of the 1st two will happen.  LTC I feel confident about.  A BN command I would judge to be around a 45-55% chance.  I'll be happy regardless.

In other news, I have been the PM for my new project for about a week.  I probably should start to do some work on it.
